Emily A. Gallagher
Emily A. Gallagher is a visiting scholar with the Center for Household Financial Stability. Her research focuses on evaluating the influence of expanded health insurance access on the savings and housing market decisions of low-income households. She also studies the debt responses of households to natural disasters, such as Hurricane Harvey. She is also an assistant professor of finance and real estate at the University of Colorado–Boulder and a faculty affiliate of the Social Policy Institute at Washington University in St. Louis.
Gallagher was previously an economist for the mutual fund industry, a research associate with the New America Foundation, and an analyst at Deutsche Bank. She received her doctorate and Master of Science degrees in economics from the Paris School of Economics (Sorbonne) and her Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Michigan.
