President Bullard Speaks with CNBC, Part 3: Monetary Policy in Europe

In London, St. Louis Fed President James Bullard shared his views on the outlook for the U.S. economy and monetary policy, potential regulatory relief for smaller banks, monetary policy in Europe, and the relationship between unemployment and inflation. He spoke Friday during an interview on CNBC’s Squawk Box Europe.

In discussing monetary policy in Europe, he noted that the European Central Bank has continued to purchase bonds and maintain negative interest rates, while the Fed has been raising the U.S. policy rate and preparing to start reducing its balance sheet.
