CDAC Member Spotlight

Kevin Smith is the president and CEO of Community Ventures Corporation (CVC). Headquartered in Lexington, Ky., CVC is a community-based nonprofit organization that exists to improve the quality of life for urban and rural residents throughout Kentucky. The organization’s mission is to provide individuals and families with the skills, income and assets they need to achieve financial independence. During Smith’s tenure, CVC has grown significantly. The company now offers services nationwide, including a full spectrum of housing services, and provides business loans from $500 to $25 million. Smith is also a member of the Community Development Advisory Council (CDAC) for the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.

CDAC members are experts in community and economic development and financial education. They complement the information developed through outreach by the District’s Community Development staff and suggest ways that the Bank might support local efforts. A list of current members is available here.
