St. Louis Fed Names Seema Sheth as New Regional Executive in Louisville

January 31, 2022

ST. LOUIS ― The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis has named Seema Sheth as senior vice president and regional executive of the Bank’s Louisville Branch, which serves southern Indiana and western Kentucky. She replaces Nikki Lanier, who left the Bank in December after seven years of service.

Sheth previously served as vice president and relationship strategist for PNC Private Bank in Louisville, where she specialized in financial planning and stewardship of high net-worth clients. Prior to this role, Seema held a similar position at Northwestern Mutual, where she was integral in diversity and inclusion efforts. An advocate of financial capability, Seema founded the Adulting Academy in 2017, which taught the basics of finance to young adults.

“Seema is an ideal regional executive for the St. Louis Fed’s Louisville Branch,” said St. Louis Fed First Vice President Kathy Paese. “Her extensive experience in banking and her dedication to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion within the financial services industry and beyond will be a true asset to the Bank and the communities across Kentucky and Indiana that are part of the Federal Reserve’s Eighth District.”

“I am beyond excited to be joining the St. Louis Fed in this important role,” Sheth said. “Those who know me well know I have a fondness for finance, with a particular focus on widening access to education about money and the economy. I will bring energy, enthusiasm and passion to this work, with the intention of raising the profile of the Louisville zone, including the ever-important surrounding region.”

Sheth serves on the board of Louisville Metro United Way, where she was vice chair for the 2019 annual campaign, raising more than $26 million for the seven-county region. She is the vice president and governance chair of Actors Theatre of Louisville, where she is credited with spearheading efforts in diversity, equity and inclusion at the board level.

Sheth has received numerous community honors, including receiving a MOSAIC Award by Jewish Family and Career Services for her nonprofit work. She was also recognized by the Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana as their "Tough Cookie" recipient in 2018 for uplifting and supporting girls in the Louisville region.

Sheth earned a master’s degree in business administration from the University of California, Irvine and a bachelor’s degree in theater from the College of William and Mary.
