Federal Reserve to Hold Forum for Minority Bankers
ST. LOUIS – The 2019 Banking and the Economy: A Forum for Minorities in Banking will be held Sept. 26-27 at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. The forum, in its fourth year, is designed to provide senior-level or high-potential middle management minority bank leaders with industry, leadership and professional development knowledge to enhance their careers and networks.
“Diversity and inclusion are top priorities across the Federal Reserve System. In the banking industry, these values are fundamental to ensuring a safe, sound and accessible banking system that protects consumers and promotes competition,” said Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis President and CEO James Bullard. “This forum gives minority bankers the opportunity to advance their industry knowledge, connect with leaders in the field and prepare them to meet the future financial needs of their communities.”
The event is sponsored by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors and the Federal Reserve banks of Atlanta, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Kansas City, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, Richmond, San Francisco and St. Louis.
This year’s forum will feature topics such as leadership, the economy, banking regulations, diversity and inclusion strategies, and professional development. There will be a variety of breakout sessions, roundtables and panel discussions, as well as presentations by:
- William Emmons, lead economist at the St. Louis Fed’s Center for Household Financial Stability;
- Alden McDonald, president and CEO of Liberty Bank;
- Alice Rodriguez, head of business and community development at JPMorgan Chase;
- Julie Stackhouse, St. Louis Fed’s executive vice president and managing officer of Supervision, Credit, Community Development and Learning Innovation; and
- Keith Wyche, noted speaker and author.
Registration for all sessions, meals and materials is $250 per person. The deadline to register is Sept. 6.
