St. Louis Fed Memphis Branch Announces Changes to Board of Directors

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis has announced the following changes to its Memphis Branch board of directors:

Charles S. Blatteis, managing member of the Memphis-based Blatteis Law Firm, PLLC, was designated chairman of the board of directors of the Memphis Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. He is currently serving a three-year term on the board that ends December 31, 2013. Blatteis also serves on the board of directors of the Greater Memphis Chamber of Commerce, the Friends of the Levitt Pavilion of Memphis, Inc., and the Memphis Chapter of the National Hispanic Professionals Organization.

Mott Ford, vice chairman and chief executive officer of Commercial Bank and Trust Co. in Memphis, Tenn., has been appointed to the board of directors of the Memphis Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis for a three-year term ending December 31, 2014. Ford also serves on the board of trustees for Dixon Gallery and Gardens, and the Memphis Academy of Health Sciences Charter School.

Lawrence C. Long, partner in the Saint Rest Planting Co. of Indianola, Miss., has been re-appointed to the board of directors of the Memphis Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis for a three-year term ending December 31, 2014. Long also serves as a director and member of the executive board of the Staple Cotton Cooperative Association and as a director of Bell Inc. In addition, Long serves on the board of directors of the Delta Council and the Sunflower County Farm Bureau.

Clyde Warren Nunn, chairman and president of Halls, Tenn.-based Security Bancorp of Tennessee Inc., has been reappointed to the board of directors of the Memphis Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis for a three-year term ending December 31, 2014. Nunn is also chairman of the Bank of Crockett, Crockett, Tenn.; the Bank of Halls, Halls, Tenn.; Gates Banking & Trust, Gates, Tenn., and Security Bank, Newbern, Tenn. Nunn also serves as vice chairman of Patriot Bank, Millington, Tenn., and as a director of the Bank of Jackson, Jackson, Tenn. In addition, Nunn serves on the board of directors of Baptist Memorial Hospital, and the foundation boards of Dyersburg State Community College and Union University.

Also serving on the Memphis Board are Allegra C. Brigham, interim president, Mississippi University for Women, Columbus, Miss.; Mark P. Fowler, vice chairman, Liberty Bank of Arkansas, Jonesboro, Ark., and Charles E. Thomas III, regional director of external/legislative Affairs, AT&T Tennessee, Memphis, Tenn.

The operations of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis and its three branches in Little Rock, Ark., Louisville, Ky., and Memphis, Tenn., are each supervised by a board of directors who are familiar with the economic and credit conditions of their respective regions. Their observations – along with the economic data and information gathered and analyzed by St. Louis Fed staff – help ensure that conditions of Main Street America are represented in Federal Open Market Committee deliberations in Washington, D.C.
