*Media Advisory* Workshop To Aid First-Time Homebuyers and Existing Homeowners

WHAT: "Multi-Cultural Homeownership Fair" will provide easy access to educational information and materials for first-time homebuyers and existing homeowners.

WHEN: Saturday, Nov. 8, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

WHERE: Pipkin Building at the Mid-South Fairgrounds
940 Early Maxwell Blvd.
Memphis, TN

WHO: Hosted by United Housing Inc., the Memphis Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, Community Development Council and the Hispanic Business Alliance. The event is also sponsored by the Bank of America and others.

WHY: Many first-time homebuyers and existing homeowners need help when it comes to learning the ropes of home improvement, mortgages and more. Attendees will have the opportunity to:

  • speak with nonprofit housing providers, banks and realtors from around the Mid-South;
  • participate in free workshops from the Home Depot, MLGW, Memphis Botanical and local interior decorators;
  • receive free information on preventing foreclosure; and
  • win door prizes and giveaways.

The workshops and the counseling will be offered in both English and Spanish.
