Lecture by Axel Weber

Bundesbank President Axel Weber discussed the financial crisis and its lessons for monetary policy in a lecture at the St. Louis Fed. Weber, a member of the Governing Council of the European Central Bank, also talked about economic governance reform in the euro area. Weber was here for the annual Homer Jones Memorial Lecture, named for a former research director of the St. Louis Fed.

About the Homer Jones Memorial Lecture Series

The St. Louis Fed's annual Homer Jones Memorial Lecture honors those who exemplify the highest qualities of leadership in economics and public policy. Jones (1906-1986) was a longtime research director at the St. Louis Fed, playing a major role in developing the St. Louis Fed as a leader in monetary research and statistics.
