During this Exploring Innovation in Community Development webinar series from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, we are exploring some of the key themes, gaps and opportunities outlined in a report by Michael Swack and Eric Hangen, Scaling U.S. Community Investing: The Investor-Product Interface.

This third and final webinar will focus on individual investors. In impact investing, these funders are potential game changers, but reaching them involves solving unique challenges. A recent Morgan Stanley survey of 800 individual investors indicates substantial interest in the nonfinancial return on their investments – over 70 percent describe themselves as interested in “sustainable investing.” These investors tend to have highly specific requirements around geography and impact. Furthermore, the financial returns that they seek vary considerably.

Speakers will focus on the platforms that encourage more individual or retail investment by overcoming some of the investors' specific requirements. The speakers include:

  • Jessica Botelho, Director of Shareholder Relations, Community Capital Management
  • Catherine Godschalk, Vice President of Investments, Calvert Foundation
  • Liz Sessler, Client Advocate, ImpactUS

Participation in this webinar is free; however, registration is required. Register for this session at the Exploring Innovation in Community Development website.
