Does College Level the Playing Field? Setting the Stage

Ray Boshara said that age, education, and race and ethnicity are predictors of family wealth and that wealth matters more than it did a generation ago. College alone is not necessarily the great equalizer, said Boshara, who is the senior adviser and director of the Center for Household Financial Stability at the St. Louis Fed. He introduced William R. Emmons, lead economist at the center.
