Burden explains how, with the right investments, communities can transform into green and sustainable places that also increase the value of every property within walking distance, both in urban and suburban contexts. Just adding sidewalks is not the solution, either. Out of the top 50 steps that Burden listed to create a more walkable, sustainable community, sidewalks came in at number 30.
