Jon R. Taylor

Jon R. Taylor is an economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis in the Supervision Policy, Research and Analysis unit. Taylor conducts research at the intersection of finance and technology, using machine learning methods to predict bank failures, among other topics. Taylor also writes research memos on cryptocurrency, decentralized finance (DeFi), emerging risks for banks and more.
Taylor received his Ph.D. from Florida Atlantic University in 2022. Taylor earned his Master of Science in finance and Bachelor of Arts degrees from Florida Atlantic University. He serves as a referee for several academic journals in the field of finance and is a member of several academic research societies, including the American Finance Association, the International Business, Economics and Finance Association, the Southern Finance Association, and others. Taylor has presented his research throughout the country at various research conferences. He earned a special commendation at the Young Finance Scholars Research Conference at the University of Sussex in Brighton, U.K., in 2019. Taylor was selected as the emerging scholar at the Community Banking Research Conference in 2021.
