Federal Reserve Gov. Michael Barr to Give 2025 Community Banking Research Conference Keynote

ST. LOUIS — Federal Reserve Gov. Michael Barr will give keynote remarks at the 2025 Community Banking Research Conference, taking place Oct. 7-8, 2025.

The 13th annual conference brings together community bankers, academics, policymakers and bank regulators to discuss the latest research on community banking. This year’s event is scheduled to be in-person at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis and available via livestream. For additional conference details, visit communitybanking.org.

Barr took office as a member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System on July 19, 2022, for an unexpired term ending Jan. 31, 2032. He served as the vice chair for supervision of the Board of Governors from July 19, 2022, to Feb. 28, 2025.

Prior to his appointment to the Board, Barr was the Joan and Sanford Weill Dean of the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy, the Frank Murphy Collegiate Professor of Public Policy, the Roy F. and Jean Humphrey Proffitt Professor of Law at the University of Michigan Law School, and the founder and faculty director of the University of Michigan's Center on Finance, Law & Policy.
