St. Louis Fed Economist Restrepo-Echavarria Appointed to Board of RIDGE
ST. LOUIS – Paulina Restrepo-Echavarria, economic policy advisor at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Research Institute for Development, Growth and Economics (RIDGE).
Restrepo-Echavarria will serve a two-year term on the board, which voted to appoint her on March 25.
Restrepo-Echavarria also serves as the secretary of the Society for Economic Dynamics.
Her research interests include international macroeconomics and search theory. Her work on the direction of capital flows, debt crises, sovereign default in commodity-rich economies, the incidence of the informal sector in the macroeconomy, labor market frictions, and theoretical models of the marriage and dating market has been published in prestigious journals, including the American Economic Review, Journal of Economic Theory and the European Economic Review. In 2005, she received the Rodrigo Gomez International Central Banking Award from the Center for Latin American Monetary Studies for her work on inflation targeting.
