Chris Waller, executive vice president and research director at the St. Louis Fed, is a highly respected scholar, central banking and monetary policy expert, and professor. He is a member of the Bank's Management Committee. He joined the St. Louis Fed in 2009, following a distinguished career in academia. He is widely published on topics of monetary policy and the macroeconomy.

He was approached by the White House last month regarding a possible governor appointment to the Federal Reserve Board of Governors and met with the president July 2. We wish him well in this process.
