Whiteboards + Children's Books = Economic and Personal Finance Education

8 a.m. - 3 p.m. | Monday, July 21, 2014

Make full use of your interactive whiteboard (IWB) while teaching engaging lessons on personal finance and economics. The common component in each lesson is a popular children's book, such as Meet Kit, Uncle Jed's Barbershop, and Berenstain Bears books, Old Hat, New Hat and The Trouble with Money.

This workshop will begin with interactive whiteboard trainer Martha Bogart providing guidance in constructing new IWB slides and enhancing those already created. If you have a computer with SMART or Promethean software, bring it along for hands-on instruction.

The rest of the day will be spent looking at lessons using children's books and interactive whiteboards, and you will leave with the lessons and books in hand! You will also see our newest online elementary programs, the Piggy Bank Primer e-book and an interactive online program, Once Upon a Decision

The workshop will include complimentary parking, as well as a continental breakfast and lunch. Participants will also receive free books and lessons.

Note: Teachers will receive 6 hours of professional development credit for the workshop.
