Planning Creates a Better FedLine Conversion

Sunday, April 1, 2001

The Federal Reserve is finalizing its plans for the conversion to the next generation of FedLine® products: FedLine for Windows® NT and FedLine for the Web. Each product has its own set of applications. For instance:

  • FedLine for Windows NT will give financial institutions a secure processing environment for higher-risk applications such as Funds Transfer, Book-Entry, ACH, TIP and PATAX. Because it resides on a Windows operating system, it also is very user-friendly.
  • FedLine for the Web is an easy-to-use, fast and flexible alternative
for applications such as Cash, Savings Bonds and Check services. Because it is a web-based product, it can be accessed from any operating system.

Each financial institution will need to complete several tasks before the conversion. The Fed recognizes that this may place significant demands on some financial institutions; so, we recommend that our customers begin their planning by designating either an individual or a team to work closely with our Electronic Access Support unit.

Information about these new software products and the Fed's pre-conversion seminars will be sent to FedLine contacts soon. In the meantime, if you have questions, please call (314) 444-8711 or 1-800-333-0861. Then press "1" to speak with an Electronic Access Support representative.
