St. Louis Fed's 2012 Homer Jones Memorial Lecture Will Be Webcast on April 11

ST. LOUIS – The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis will webcast the 2012 Homer Jones Memorial Lecture live on the Bank’s web site at 4 p.m. CDT on Wednesday, April 11.  To watch, go to www.stlouisfed.org/live

The lecture will feature Mohamed A. El-Erian, CEO and co-CIO of the investment firm PIMCO.  He will present “Evolution, Impact and Limitations of Unusual Central Bank Policy Activism” in the Bank’s Gateway Conference Center Auditorium.  James Bullard, president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, will provide welcoming remarks. 

The Homer Jones Memorial Lecture honors those who exemplify the highest qualities of leadership in economics and public policy.  As research director, and later as senior vice president at the St. Louis Fed, Homer Jones (1906-1986) played a major role in developing the Bank as a leader in monetary research and statistics.  Past lecturers have included Ben S. Bernanke, chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System; Axel A. Weber, former president of the Deutsche Bundesbank; and John B. Taylor, former undersecretary of the Treasury for International Affairs and professor of economics at Stanford University.
