DIRECTIONS

Visit the Economy Museum in downtown St. Louis, located inside the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis building at Broadway and Locust, 1 Federal Reserve Bank Plaza, St. Louis, MO 63102. Walk-ins should use the front entrance via the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis plaza. When you arrive at the front entrance, please use the intercom button to request access.

PARKING AND MASS TRANSIT

Public parking is available at several nearby garages, including the St. Louis Centre East garage on Broadway and the Gentry’s Landing garage on Fourth Street. The museum is unable to validate parking for either garage. The nearest station for MetroLink, St. Louis’ light-rail system, is Convention Center, located two blocks from the St. Louis Fed. Visitors should be mindful of sidewalk and lane closures on North Broadway, on the west side of the St. Louis Fed building. Closures and sidewalk detours are marked above.

ACCESSIBILITY

The Economy Museum is dedicated to making the experience accessible to all audiences. Please see our measures and recommendations below to ensure you have an excellent time. We recommend calling in advance for any additional accommodations.

Parking

  • The museum does not have visitor parking on the property. Please see the “Parking and Mass Transit” section above for other options.
  • To drop off individuals with mobility restrictions, we recommend parking temporarily on Fourth Street or Broadway. From either street you can access the main entrance at One Federal Reserve Bank Plaza or the St. Charles Street group entrance.

Accessible Entrances

  • Walk-Ins: A single-person, wheelchair-accessible elevator is available upon arrival at the plaza main entrance. When you arrive, please use the intercom button to request access. For groups with multiple wheelchair users, please call 48 hours in advance so we may arrange for you to enter from the St. Charles Street group entrance.
  • Groups: All prescheduled groups larger than 15 will enter at the accessible St. Charles Street entrance and will be escorted from there to the museum. Use of this entrance must be booked in advance.

Inside the Museum

  • Wheelchairs: Unmotorized wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Sizes range from 18 to 20 inches.
  • Service Animals: Service dogs are welcome. Pets and emotional support animals are not permitted.
  • Sensory Needs: The museum is designed to be interactive with dynamic video, audio, and bright lighting, which can be triggering for some individuals with sensory processing disorders.
  • Photosensitivity: The museum’s exhibit design and flashing lights may be triggering for those with photosensitive epilepsy. Please proceed with caution.

VISITOR POLICIES

  • All visitors over 18 must present a valid government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license or passport, upon arrival. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • The St. Louis Fed is a secure facility. X-ray screening and metal detection are required for all who enter the building. Illegal drugs, weapons and dangerous items are prohibited, including pocketknives, firearms (even if licensed), oleoresin capsicum spray of any size (commonly known as pepper spray), explosives and hazardous materials.
  • To keep our facilities as safe as possible, all visitors with symptoms associated with COVID-19 or any other transmittable illnesses should avoid visiting the Economy Museum. View Visiting the St. Louis Fed for more.
  • Visitors can enter the museum until 2:45 p.m. Allow about one hour for your tour. The museum closes at 3 p.m.
  • Food and drink cannot be brought into the building (except during scheduled school field trips).
  • Flash photography is permitted for personal use inside the museum only.
  • The museum is smoke-free. Tobacco products, as well as vapor or e-cigarettes, are not allowed.

The St. Louis Fed reserves the right to deny anyone access to the building. In the event of heightened security requirements, we may close to the public at any time.

Before you head out, stop by the museum gift shop and pick-up your free shredded money souvenir, take some of our complimentary economic education resources and business publications, and shop our gift-worthy merchandise. The shop sells numerous items bearing the museum’s logo, including T-shirts, tote bags, sunglasses, umbrellas, rain ponchos, plush toys, pencils and magnets.

The gift shop accepts major credit cards and cash. It is open weekdays from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., excluding holidays.
