Teaching U.S. History with Primary Resources

Are you looking for ways to incorporate more historical inquiry into your teaching? This workshop demonstrates how to use primary source documents found in FRASER (Federal Reserve Archival System for Economic Research) to help your students practice historical inquiry thinking. We will share an activity using the digitized version of 75 Years of American Finance, an 85-foot-long graphic timeline from 1861-1936. You also will have the opportunity to:

• View the new teacher resource page on FRASER and learn how you can bring more digital documents into your classroom.
• See a demonstration of the new lesson Arsenal of Democracy: The United States in World War II.
• Learn how to incorporate economic data and wartime propaganda into activities that your students will remember and enjoy.

This workshop includes dinner and complimentary parking. Attendance is free, but registration is required by Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015.
