Julie Stackhouse, senior vice president of the St. Louis Fed’s Banking Supervision and Regulation division, provides a wrap-up of the 2014 Fed/CSBS Community Banking in the 21st Century research and policy conference. She first summarizes the findings of the three academic panels that centered on “Formation, Behavior and Performance,” “The Effect of Government Policy on Bank Lending and Risk-Taking” and “The Effect of Government Policy on Community Bank Viability.” She then provides highlights from keynote speaker Rebeca Romero Rainey, from the results of the 2014 Fed/CSBS survey and town hall events and from the concluding panel discussion on the “The Future of Community Banking.”
