Fed Districts Will Use the Internet to Communicate during the Century Date Change

To communicate consistent information to its customers and the public during the century rollover period, the Federal Reserve Board has asked each of its Districts to establish a special Y2K web page. These pages will be used to post press releases and other status information on local issues on an as-needed basis; there will be no scheduled releases.

In addition to local news, each District web site will also offer links to:

  • The Y2K web pages maintained by the Board and other Fed Districts.

  • Up-to-date customer information on the operational status of national Fed services.

  • The Information Coordination Center (ICC) of the President's Council on Year 2000 Conversion. The ICC will be the federal government’s central point for gathering, analyzing and summarizing information on system operations during the century rollover period.

  • All previously posted Year 2000 information.

The District pages will be available Monday, Dec. 27, 1999, through Friday, Jan. 7, 2000.
