Mueller and Metcalfe Re-Appointed to St. Louis Fed Board
St. Louis The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve
System in Washington, D.C., has re-appointed Charles W. Mueller
as chairman of the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank
of St. Louis and Walter L. Metcalfe, Jr., as deputy chairman. Mueller
is chairman and chief executive officer of Ameren Corporation, and
Metcalfe is chairman of Bryan Cave LLP.
Mueller is also a member of the boards of directors of St. Louis
Children's Hospital, Angelica Corporation, Webster University, the
St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, BJC Health System, Civic Progress,
the United Way of Greater St. Louis, and the Regional Chamber and
Growth Association.
Metcalfe also serves on the boards of trustees of Washington University,
the Danforth Foundation and the Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts,
and is a member of the board of directors of the Regional Chamber
and Growth Association.
With branches in Little Rock, Louisville and Memphis, the Federal
Reserve Bank of St. Louis serves the Eighth Federal Reserve District,
which includes all of Arkansas, eastern
Missouri, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, western Kentucky,
western Tennessee and northern Mississippi. In addition to serving
as a bank for depository institutions and the U.S.
government, each Reserve Bank monitors economic conditions in its
District, participates in formulating monetary policy, and supervises
state-chartered member banks and bank holding companies to foster
safety and soundness of the District's banking and financial institutions
and to protect the credit rights of consumers.
