Mueller, Metcalfe Reappointed to St. Louis Fed Board
ST. LOUIS -- The Board of Governors of the Federal
Reserve System in Washington, D.C., has re-appointed Charles W.
Mueller as chairman and Walter L. Metcalfe, Jr., as deputy chair
to the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis
for terms ending Dec. 31, 2002. Mueller was also re-appointed as
a director on the St. Louis Fed's board for a term ending Dec. 31,
2004.
Mueller is chairman and chief executive officer of Ameren Corporation
in St. Louis. Metcalfe is chairman of the St. Louis-based law firm
of Bryan Cave LLP.
Mueller is also president of Civic Progress, Inc., vice chair of
the board of directors of St. Louis Children's Hospital, and a member
of the board of trustees of BJC Healthcare.
Metcalfe is also a director of the Regional Chamber and Growth
Association, a member of the boards of trustees of the Danforth
Foundation, the Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts and Washington
University in St. Louis, and is a director of the St. Louis chapter
of the Boy Scouts of America.
With branches in Little Rock, Louisville and Memphis, the Federal
Reserve Bank of St. Louis serves the Eighth Federal Reserve District,
which includes all of Arkansas, eastern Missouri, southern Indiana,
southern Illinois, western Kentucky, western Tennessee and northern
Mississippi. In addition to serving as a bank for depository institutions
and the U.S. government, each Reserve Bank monitors economic conditions
in the District, participates in formulating monetary policy, and
supervises state-chartered member banks and bank holding companies
to foster safety and soundness of the District's banking and financial
institutions and to protect the credit rights of consumers.
