Brian Fogle Appointed to Federal Reserve Board’s Community Advisory Council

November 18, 2015

A community foundation leader from Springfield, Mo. has been appointed to the Federal Reserve Board's newly created Community Advisory Council (CAC).

Brian Fogle, president and chief executive officer of the Community Foundation of the Ozarks, was one of 15 people selected from a pool of applicants who responded to the Board’s public request for candidates. Fogle has served as a member of the Community Development Advisory Council (CDAC) for the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis since 2013.

The first meeting of the CAC will be Friday in Washington, D.C.

The CAC is composed of individuals with consumer- and community development-related expertise who will provide information, advice and recommendations to the Board on a wide range of policy matters and emerging issues of interest.

Fogle spent nearly 30 years in banking in Springfield. He is a native of Aurora, Mo., and received bachelor's and master's degrees in banking and finance from the University of Mississippi.

In 2012, Fogle was appointed by Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon to the Coordinating Board for Higher Education; he now serves as vice chairman. Fogle also has served as the chairman of the Good Community Committee and on the boards of the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, the Every Child Promise, Mercy Health Systems–Springfield, the Urban Districts Alliance and Springfield Business Development Corp. He has received the O. Franklin Kenworthy Leadership Award and the Springfieldian Award, as well as an honorary doctorate of humane letters from Drury University.
