Spotlight on Economics:
Lessons in Personal Finance

An Economic and Financial Literacy Symposium for K-to-12th-Grade Teachers

Sponsored by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis – Little Rock Branch, Economics Arkansas, the Arkansas Securities Department and the Springdale Professional Development Center.

Details: What basic skills do students need to help them become financially literate adults? What are the most effective ways to teach students about personal finance? This two-day workshop will answer these questions and more about personal finance. The “Financial Literacy” session focuses on how to present financial literacy education to children. “The ABCs of Personal Finance” will feature Dr. Michael Owyang, a St. Louis Fed Research economist, who will cover all the basics of personal finance, including budgets, debt, assets, liabilities and more.

Continental breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m. and lunch is provided. The program will adjourn at 4 p.m.
