Schedule of Workshops

Fed ChallengeIf your team wishes to participate in one of our District's four Fed Challenge competitions, your school must reside within the boundaries of the Eighth Federal Reserve District (PDF, 85 KB).

Following are the critical dates for all participating teams:

 
New—Just Curious Workshop for Teachers and potential team members

Would you like an opportunity to find out more about Fed Challenge without making a commitment to participating? Teachers, we encourage you to bring up to five interested students with you, but you can attend alone. Free classroom resources will be distributed, and refreshments will be served.

There is no fee, but registration is required by emailing Dawn Conner, economic education coordinator at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.

Fall Coaching Workshop for Teachers and Coaches

Teachers/sponsors and coaches who are interested in learning more about Fed Challenge should attend this session at one of the following locations.

Registration, including names of all attending, is required at least seven business days prior to the event.

Note: Louisville—workshops will be arranged at high school sites upon request.

Winter Workshop for Teacher, Coaches and Teams

Teachers/sponsors, teams and coaches participating in Fed Challenge will find this workshop to be a great cram session on the economy, economic indicators and monetary policy-making.

Regional Competition

The Regional Competition will be held on the dates listed below. People in attendance will be the teacher, coach and a five-member team, plus one alternate (optional).

District Competition

The District Competition will be held April 22, 2008 at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. The Bank and branches will cover transportation and travel expenses for the teacher, coach and five team members (and optional alternate).

National Competition

The National Competition will be held May 16-19, 2008 in Washington, D.C. The St. Louis Fed will cover transportation and travel expenses for the teacher, coach and the five team members (and optional alternate) who won the District Competition.
