Thomas Spitz, CEO of Settlers Bank in Windsor, Wis., shares his experiences starting a community bank during the financial crisis in an area that had been vacated by many competitors because of the difficult market times. Being a new bank also allowed management to consider new business models, such as being a paperless bank.
